What is SUP Yoga?
SUP (Stand-up Paddle Board) yoga is a form of yoga practiced on a stand-up paddleboard while floating on water—usually on a calm lake, bay, or slow-moving river. It combines traditional yoga poses with the added challenge (and fun!) of maintaining balance on the board.
What to Expect
-
You don’t need to be an expert yogi or paddler!
Classes are beginner-friendly, and we’ll go over the basics before starting. -
We’ll start kneeling or seated
This helps you get comfortable with the board and your balance. -
The poses are modified for stability
You’ll practice grounded poses like child’s pose, cat-cow, seated twists, and maybe even try standing postures if you're ready. -
Falling is normal—and part of the fun!
It’s just water. Laugh, climb back on, and keep going. -
Boards are anchored
You won’t drift away during class—just float and flow.

Focus on Balance Over Depth
-
Arrive early- Give yourself time to get checked in, get fitted with gear, and settle in.
-
Listen to your body- If you’re unsure about a pose, modify or take a rest on your board.
-
Engage your core- It helps with balance and control more than you think!
-
Keep an open mind- SUP Yoga is about enjoying the moment, connecting with nature, and having fun—wobbles and all.
